The Red Devils will not be the only ones defending our colours at the 2018 FIFA World Cup. 11 Belgian enterprises, enough for its own football team, have been selected to supply cutting-edge technological equipment in the Russian stadiums. Three of them are Walloon and are used to this type of global event.
EVS (Seraing) is supplying production infrastructure that allows repeat and slow-motion action during matches in the stadiums: video production servers, replays, slow-motions and on-the-fly processing solutions, central media archiving and advanced content management.
WNM (Seraing) is supplying all the wireless intercom solutions at the 12 Russian stadiums, as well as 12 sound engineers who will be in charge of managing these systems at the service of TV production teams. WNM is also supplying 6 sound engineers in order to deliver the international signal to television channels around the world.
Wollux (Mouscron), a communication textile supplier, has produced, among other things, Cubica ottomans, flags, A4 stickers, roll-ups, banners (in PVC) and rugs for various clients who make deliveries in the frame of Russia 2018 as well as for the Royal Belgian Football Association.
"This is a wonderful international showcase for our enterprises. The orders for Belgian companies represent about €15 to €20 million", explains Marc Lambotte, CEO of Agoria, the Belgian Federation for the Technology Industry.
These eleven companies - seven Flemish, three Walloon, one Brussels-based - are part of the Sports & Entertainment Technology Club (SETC), launched by Agoria and the Belgian Olympic Committee to encourage our companies to supply products and services for the organisers of major events (FIFA World Cup and UEFA European Championship, Olympic Games, etc.). The promise of great visibility and new sales opportunities.
