A pioneer in the fight against cancer metastases, Mestastop Solutions was one of a group of 5 Indian life sciences companies invited to Wallonia from 4 to 8 December as part of the WalloniaTech-India programme, which aims to link the flourishing Indian start-up ecosystem to the European market via Wallonia. And the gamble paid off, with the Indian biotech company now inaugurating its European subsidiary in the Gosselies Biopark!

Dominique Demonté, CEO of the Biopark, is delighted: ‘We are very proud to have created an attractive environment within the BioPark Charleroi for companies like Mestastop.

Founded in 2018 in India by Arnab and Debabani Roy Chowdhury, Mestastop Solutions is today positioned as a leader in the development of innovative solutions aimed at curbing the spread of cancer through the metastases responsible for 90% of deaths in patients with solid tumours.

Thanks to its three revolutionary technological platforms - in vitro, in vivo and ex vivo - Mestastop Solutions explores the complex biology of metastases, making it possible to better target patients at risk and develop promising drugs to delay their progression. The decision to establish a European subsidiary in Wallonia stems from a recognition of the Walloon region's solid expertise and considerable advantages in the life sciences sector.

Frédéric Sallmann, Managing Director of the European subsidiary, expresses his enthusiasm: ‘Establishing Mestastop Solutions Europe in Belgium represents a crucial step in our mission to transform cancer treatment. We are convinced that this dynamic and innovative ecosystem will provide us with an ideal setting in which to accelerate our research and make our breakthroughs in the fight against metastases a reality.’

The involvement of the Wallonia Export & Investment Agency played a key role in the establishment of the European subsidiary. Thanks to the WalloniaTech-India programme, Mestastop Solutions Europe has benefited from invaluable support in accessing the resources and opportunities needed for its development.

At the dawn of this new era, Frédéric Sallmann and Arnab Roy Chowdhury are focusing on the roll-out phase of the European subsidiary, with an emphasis on research and clinical development of technology platforms.

‘We are determined to transform the way cancer is treated by harnessing the power of science and technology,’ says Arnab Roy Chowdhury. ‘We are resolutely committed to translating our discoveries into concrete clinical applications, with the ultimate goal of transforming the way cancer is treated,’ adds Frédéric Sallmann.
