Buzon is based in Herstal and is the leading European manufacturer of (screwjack) polypropylene pedestals. The 70,000-square metre terrace of the Iran Mall, set to be the world's largest shopping centre, will be laid on its pedestals.
Buzon was part of the recent Belgian economic mission in Iran which aimed to re-establish economic relations with this country, the embargo on which has now been suspended for several months.
With offices worldwide, Buzon has already been involved with projects such as the enormous Marina Bay Sands in Singapore and the Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. And this, even at a time of major competition where its pedestals being copied by Singaporean, Chinese and even European companies.
It is currently asserting its expertise in Iran where the Liege-based company will largely contribute to the creation of the terrace for the future largest shopping centre in the world, in Tehran (1.2 million square metres). A project seen as the symbol of national Iranian pride and the country's commitment to open up to the world.
Buzon has already delivered 80,000 pedestals for the Iran Mall and hopes to equip the centre's entire terrace which will require a total of 210,000 pedestals. "We are not the cheapest, but we offer a service. We go onto site and support our customers, even helping them to reduce their order. Also, we give a twenty- to twenty-five-year guarantee on our products. We do not sell pedestals, but solutions", Laurent Buzon, Sales and Export Director explained in Tehran.
