In Wallonia, 1 out of 76 companies has a web site. That’s better than Brussels and Flanders.
In numerical terms, Flanders has 9,869 e-commerce sites, whereas Wallonia has 5,195 and Brussels 2,142. However, in relative terms, Wallonia performs better than the other Regions, because it has one website per 76 companies, while the ratio in Flanders is 1 per 91 and in the Brussels Region is 1 per 116 companies.
According to Emmanuel Facovi, CEO of Kompass Benelux, who conducted the study: "e-commerce is the quickest and most efficient means for many self-employed people or VSE managers to really start a business. It is therefore a job-creating medium".
